William P. Fisher, Ph.D.
Of Counsel
William Fisher has a distinguished career in senior management and the hospitality industry. He provides thoughtful and crystal-clear advice and counsel to the firm and to our clients across many disciplines.
Currently, he is the Darden Eminent Scholar in Restaurant Management at the Rosen School of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida. Prior to joining the Rosen School, Fisher was President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Hotel & Lodging Association. He also served as the Chief Staff Officer of the National Restaurant Association, and was the Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration for Service Systems Corporation (now Marriott Services Systems).
Fisher holds three degrees from Cornell University: Bachelors of Science from the School of Hospitality Administration; and Masters in Business Administration; and a Ph.D. in education administration. His academic credentials include serving as Assistant Professor at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, where he taught accounting, finance, and general management. Concurrent while teaching at Cornell, Fisher served as a hospitality industry consultant for Gaurnier Associates, a consulting firm serving the hotel and restaurant industries.
He is the author of Fisher’s Laws: The Thinker’s Guide to Management Action, and has been an editor of other books related to the hospitality industry.
He received the Champion of Education Award by the International Council of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education in 1996, and the Diplomate Award in 1998 from the National Restaurant Association’s Educational Foundation.
